16年間の企業生活を経て、ジョン・プリンスはミツバチの世界に真の天職を見出しました。目的意識と持続可能性への個人的な変化から始まったものが、Rooftop Beesという、人々と自然をより近づけるムーブメントへと成長しました。
2019年に事業を立ち上げて以来、ジョンはシドニー、メルボルン、ブリスベンの商業ビルの屋上に巣箱を設置し、都市のスカイラインを活気ある生態系へと変えてきました。現在、Rooftop Beesは50以上の主要な組織の巣箱を管理し、生物多様性の促進、グリーンビルディングクレジットの獲得、そして自然を通じたコミュニティのつながりを支援しています。
ジョンにとって、ミツバチの世話は責任であると同時に、すべての巣箱が小さな環境修復の行為であることを思い出させるものです。彼がよく言うように、「私たちはミツバチを救っているのではなく、ミツバチが私たちを救っているのです。」
私たちは常に、自然の健康と健全な生態系は巣箱から始まると信じてきました。そして、その恵みの豊かさに頼っているからこそ、それを可能にする受粉者たちへ、誇りを持って協力する地元の養蜂家たちへ、そして私たちが支えるコミュニティへ恩返しをするのは当然のことだと考えています。
