Helping your kids get healthy (4 sneaky ways!)

Helping your kids get healthy (4 sneaky ways!)

It can be tricky to get your children to eat healthy foods every day. Here are some sneaky ways you can add healthy foods to your kids day:

  1. Smoothies – With yoghurt, fruit and honey to sweeten, you can add antioxidants, vitamins and probiotics all in one glass! Use high quality pot-set natural yoghurt, and sweeten with fresh fruits. Berries and bananas are popular with kids. If you add Manuka Honey for a little sweetness, you’ll also add an antioxidant boost, help with digestion, improve gut health and help increase immune strength.

  2. Freshly Squeezed Juice – Store bought juices are high in sugar and are often treated or processed so have little nutrient value left. A freshly squeezed juice however, is packed with healthy vitamins, minerals and active enzymes which are quickly and easily absorbed by the body. If your kids don’t eat many vegetables, add cucumber, celery or carrot to their apple or orange juice – they won’t know the difference!

  3. Switch to Manuka Honey – All kids like honey, but did you know that Manuka Honey has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties? You can spread Manuka Honey on toast or bread, drizzle over cereal, add to drinks or just eat it by the spoonful. Manuka Honey can fight stomach bugs, help build immune strength, ward off sore throats and the common cold. It’s an excellent way to add antioxidants to children’s diet as well.

  4. Try natural Bee Pollen - Bee Pollen is a natural superfood that contains almost every nutrient the body needs. Bee Pollen contains Vitamins A, C, D, E, and many of the B complex group. Bee Pollen also contains iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc and with 8 essential amino acids is considered a high-protein food. Bee Pollen can be added to drinks, cereals, shakes and smoothies and is an excellent source of the energy for growing children.
